Availability
Privatt paid subscriptions are available to customers whose declared account country is Canada or the United States. This is an account eligibility choice, not an IP geofence. Travel does not change an existing account country. Stripe collects the billing address separately to calculate applicable tax.
Chat has an additional request-level Canada/United States boundary and fails closed unless the trusted production ingress supplies an allowed country.
Plans and billing
All plans are billed monthly before applicable tax:

Shared Privatt storage covers Vault files and Kept receipt storage. A new subscriber may request a refund of the first subscription payment within 30 days. After that period, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Vault
Every paid plan includes all three Vault encryption modes:
- Your devices only: Privatt cannot recover the key.
- Two-key vault (recommended): recovery requires the customer's passphrase or one-time recovery key. Losing both permanently loses access.
- Managed by Privatt: account recovery is available, but Privatt can decrypt and scan files. This mode is not zero-knowledge and requires informed consent.
Customers remain responsible for keeping independent copies of important files.
Send
The initial public Send stage includes encrypted text links only. File attachments remain unavailable until the separate storage, malware scanning, quota, recovery, and browser gates pass.
- Free accounts: up to 100 text sends per month, with an expiry of up to 14 days.
- Paid accounts: no published monthly text-send cap, subject to security, abuse-prevention, and acceptable-use controls, with an expiry of up to 30 days.
- When files are enabled in a later stage: up to 250 MB per file, 100 files, and 25 GB per billing period.
Chat
Day-one Chat is browser-tab use for Canada/United States traffic only. It requires Privatt Chat client 1.0.0 or later, Matrix SDK 18.3.1 or later, every runtime capability check, and the latest vendor security patch for the browser and operating system.
Supported browsers:
- Desktop: Chromium 150+, Firefox 152+, Safari 26.5+.
- Android: Chrome 150+.
- iOS: Mobile Safari 26.5+.
Firefox mobile, installed-PWA behaviour, push notifications, and reliable background operation are not supported at launch. Chat access is enabled in controlled global stages. Marketing is published only after production app access and live delivery are verified.
Kept
Every paid plan includes Kept with the book limit shown above. Connected Stripe payments are not included at launch. Merchants may place their own HTTPS payment link on supported customer documents. Kept reports remain accounting tools and do not replace professional tax, accounting, or legal advice.
Support and public cryptography material
Support is available by email in English and French on a best-effort basis. There is no response-time or resolution-time service-level agreement.
The public cryptography-repository link remains unavailable until the repository is public and the production link has been verified. Product copy must not imply that unpublished or unaudited components have been independently audited.
